There are two events going on this weekend that can keep you busy. First, Miller Outdoor Theatre will be presenting “The Barber of Seville” from 8pm to 10:30pm tonight and tomorrow.
HGO presents Rossini’s madcap comedy The Barber of Seville featuring artists from HGO Studio as well as the HGO Orchestra and Chorus.
A lecherous old man is no match for young love and sheer audacity, especially when Figaro is involved. Dr. Bartolo is love with Rosina, his young and beautiful charge. But when she falls in love with a “poor student,” (a count in disguise) the stage is set for laugh-out-loud comedy.
Rossini’s score is punctuated with brilliant ensembles and some of opera’s most familiar arias, including Figaro’s ode to his own fame.
Also at Discovery Green tomorrow, there are a ton of events happening that should provide for some good people watching. There is a Walk for Crohn’s Disease, “Artsploration”, Yoga, and a bunch of other things. You can check out their calendar here: http://www.discoverygreen.com/ebevents/
