Old Alabama Bookstop to become Trader Joe’s?

I was devastated when the old Alabama Bookstop closed down several years ago. It was one of my favorite stores to visit in this town because of how unique the place was (the magazine section on the stage was especially cool to peruse). Well, word over on Nancy Sarnoff’s blog says that Trader Joe’s is rumored to be looking at this now vacant property. If true, this will be welcomed news (so long as they don’t completely destroy the interior of the place). Head over to the Chronicle to read the entire story here.
