Breaking: No Brew Pub Downtown

The Houston Chronicle is reporting that the much anticipated Freetail Brewing Pub will now not be opening in Houston.
Owner Scott Metzger said today that it became obvious over the past two weeks that he would not be able to secure enough funds to move forward without scaling back his original plan to open a three-story, 20,000-square-foot restaurant and on-site brewery.
This is obviously a huge disappointment and blow to what seemed to be Houston’s chance of getting a brew pub back into our city (and more life downtown). You can read more here.
